DANUBE WOOD(s)ROUTE

The main goal of the project is to utilize the natural resources and cultural features of the forests in the Danube Region in order to create sustainable and innovative ecotourism and develop related services. Huge economic differences between the western and eastern parts of the Danube region, as well as between some city centres and the surrounding rural areas, are typical, which can also be observed in the quality of the tourist offer. The project develops an ecotourism alternative, a nature-based solution for sustainable development and the preservation of the cultural identity of local communities, and develops a friendlier attitude towards wood and the sustainable use of forest resources, while supporting the long-term preservation of this European heritage.
