As the next milestone of our OPTi-UP project, Pécs hosted an inspiring professional site visit where colleagues from TükeBusz shared their hands-on experience with operating electric buses. Partners from Osijek , Vienna and Paks had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Pécs’ sustainable public transport solutions, while the DDRIÜ team was pleased to actively contribute to this valuable exchange of knowledge and expertise.
The programme started in the morning at the TükeBusz headquarters, with a comprehensive presentation on the operation and future development of public transport in Pécs. This was followed by a light lunch, providing a relaxed setting for networking and informal discussions. Around noon, participants travelled together along line No. 90, riding the scheduled electric bus from one terminus to the other, experiencing everyday e-bus operation directly on site.
The highlight of the visit was the tour of the electric bus depot, where partners gained insight into the technical background and sustainable solutions behind the fleet’s operation. The meeting once again underlined the importance of international cooperation and knowledge sharing in shaping the future of green mobility. We are proud that Pécs and TükeBusz can serve as a best-practice example for the region.

The OPTI-UP project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Hungary within the Interreg Central Europe Programme
