Where is the future of urban mobility headed? Smart poles and smart cities. These were the main topics of the Budapest event attended by the partners of the Resonance project. The participating countries were Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, and Ukraine.
The international exchange of experience focused on the role of intelligent street lighting poles (smart poles) in developing urban mobility, with special emphasis on supporting electric transportation solutions and optimizing „last-mile delivery.”

The first day of the event kicked off with professional consultations. Partners reviewed communication activities, the progress of collecting best practices, as well as the results of local stakeholder involvement and the current status of the pilot program.
Following this, project coordination and management issues were discussed, including reporting processes, the current state of implementation, and activities planned for the upcoming period.
In the afternoon, participants took part in a professional study tour at the Budapest Freeport (Szabadkikötő) logistics center, focusing on the current challenges and innovative solutions of last-mile delivery. On-site, experts from Ghibli Kft. and Masped Logisztikai Kft. gave presentations, sharing their practical experiences in increasing the efficiency of urban logistics.
Day 2 – International Workshop and Professional Exchange
The second day focused on the international exchange of experience and policy dialogue. The aim of the workshop was to strengthen interregional cooperation regarding the installation and application of smart poles.

During the morning presentations, Paksi Közlekedési Kft. presented the Danube Indeet model, which is based on the cooperation between electric vehicle fleets and smart infrastructure, while Smart Lynx outlined the possibilities of smart parking systems and urban data integration. Additionally, the operational program related to the project was also presented.
Continuing the program, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) provided insight into mobility developments in the capital.
In the afternoon, participants took part in an urban field visit, where they studied the operation of Budapest’s mobility hubs, known as „Mobi-points.”
The event concluded with an interactive workshop where participants collaborated to define future directions for promoting the application of smart lighting poles. Using the so-called ‘Innovation Traffic Light’ methodology, they identified the key opportunities and challenges.

The RESONANCE project is implemented within the Interreg Europe Programme, co-financed by the European Union and Hungary.
