The European Union considers innovation, research and technology transfer to be the most important sphere of creating competitive advantage. Innovation is crucial in the enhancement of competitiveness and export capabilities of corporations. In the last decade, the most technology-intensive and innovation-oriented sectors were developing the most.<\/p>

Innovation \u2013 that means adaptation to the changing economic environment and to the challenges of the future \u2013 is considered to be the European Union\u2019s motor for development.
