HERCULES-CE

The energy transition, the access to RES with lower infrastructure investment costs can be greatly increased if citizens and SMEs are involved in the form of communities aiming at sharing energy with savings. The higher costs for energy bills impact on citizens’ and SMEs’ wallet; energy agency and regional authorities need to fulfil the energy targets, reducing infrastructure costs. An energy transition will only work with extensive investments in renewable energies and energy efficiency in the electricity, heating and mobility sectors. Cooperative projects through energy communities can spread the regional investments over many shoulders and thus help to shoulder the burden. Renewable Energy Communities (REC) instruments to help CE for the energy transition because they produce energy with lower costs and lower infrastructure investments and implement a wide range of projects. To change this, the project consortium brings together 12 partners that share the same vision of the community energy development as an important factor for increasing energy efficiency as well as the use of renewable energy sources in the Central Europe regions.
