Innovation Showroom at Researchers' Night

The South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency and the Institute of Biophysics of the Faculty of Medical School of the University of Pécs, within the framework of Medtech4Europe Interreg Europe project, have undertaken to establish an innovation showroom in order to present the Institute's scientific results for educational and economic purposes.

The cooperation proved to be successful, as on the one hand we managed to take over and adapt to the domestic conditions the identical showroom of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, or as commonly known, the CEA in Hungary, this time based on the results of the medical higher education in Pécs. The concept was transferred in 2022 within the framework of the Medetch4Europe project, and the construction of the showroom was implemented using other financial resources available to the University.

The innovation showroom was first introduced at the Researchers' Night in 2022. The Researchers' Night takes place in the last week of September each year, and the aim of the educational program series is to widely disseminate the results of science and university research. The Institute of Biophysics, staying true to its own profile, at these events, among other things, presents its research on biophysical imaging methods, its achievements in the field of light-regulated proteins, the cytoskeleton, and the practice of biophysical clinical research.

In recent years, the innovation showroom has greatly facilitated the recruitment of high school students interested in the field of biophysics and their transition to university studies. In addition, it has also successfully oriented the Faculty's graduates towards a research career. It is a recent and positive development that today several market enterprises are approaching the Institute regarding their current market product development and service expansion needs. It can therefore be said that the innovation showroom successfully fulfills its role even after the year 2022 closure of the Medtech4Europe project.

Without claiming to be exhaustive, we have attached the following few photos from the Researchers' Nights held between 2022-2025. The photos were taken in the auditorium of the Faculty of General Medicine.
