The Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice organized the 3rd technical meeting and Steering Committee meeting of the OPTI-UP project in South Bohemia, Czech Republic.
Eco-friendly electric bus fleets serving local inhabitants
At the one and a half day event, on 29-30 October 2025, the Central European partnership of the project reviewed the pilot actions taking place in six Central European cities. The pilot actions are about intelligent route planning (locations: Osijek, Paks), demand-driven public transport solutions (Modena, Grosuplje cities), and the optimization of existing bus fleets (Český Krumlov, Pécs settlements).
The OPTI-UP tool was also discussed, which aims to provide local leaders planning the development and transformation of their local public transport with a tool that – based on the nearly two-year exchange of experience of the six OPTI-UP cities – will help their work by sharing good and bad solutions from Central Europe.

A World Heritage site at the gateway to electromobility
On the second day, we visited Český Krumlov, where the mayor of the city and one of the heads of the local public transport company presented the public transport of the world heritage city, its development directions, the related population needs and travel experiences of the users. The small town with two public transport lines is committed to deploying low-emission electric buses into operation.
The South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency was accompanied to the Czech Republic by the management of Tüke Busz Plc. (of Pécs)., whom we would like to thank for their active participation.

The next international meeting of the OPTI-UP project will take place in April 2026, and the location has not yet been decided.

The OPTI-UP project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Hungary within the Interreg Central Europe Programme
