From 10 to 12 March 2026, the 4th interregional partner meeting and study visit of the Circular Minds projecttook place in Seville, Spain, organised by the Regional Government of Andalusia – Department of Sustainability and Environment.The three-day event brought together regional development organisations, experts and decision-makers from across Europe to exchange experiences on circular economy approaches, sustainable public procurement and organisational change.
Key highlights of the programme
Interregional exchange and project progress
During the first day, partners reviewed the progress of the project and discussed upcoming activities. The discussions focused on how identified good practices can be integrated into regional and organisational processes.
A workshop session applied the COM-B behavioural model to analyse factors influencing sustainable decision-making within organisations.
Stakeholder engagement
Stakeholders of the project partners also participated in the meeting, ensuring that project results remain closely connected to development and decision-making processes.
On behalf of STRIA, the Central Danube Development Agency Nonprofit Ltd. (KDMFÜ) also participated as the project’s Associated Policy Authority.
Study visits showcasing circular innovation
Participants visited two circular economy initiatives in Andalusia:
- Atlantic Copper Metallurgical Complex (Huelva) – industrial circular solutions in metal processing
- ÉXITA Innovation Centre (Seville) – technology-driven innovations supporting resource efficiency
Steering Group and next steps
The third day focused on the application of the project’s policy assessment tool, the further development of the Circular Minds capacity building tool, and discussions on upcoming activities.
The Circular Minds project, funded by the Interreg Europe Programme, aims to strengthen the development of circular economy solutions and sustainable public procurement practices across European regions.
The meeting in Seville represents another important step towards stronger cooperation and the joint development of circular solutions across Europe.
