The South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency is participating in another international cooperation in the field of mobility, led by the University of Aveiro in Portugal.
The SMARTAUTO project was launched on 1 May 2025 and aims to promote the benefits of autonomus vehicles and their wider deployment across Europe, with the participation of universities, research institutes, public transport companies, government agencies, technology centres, automated transport testing organisations and innovation support organisations. In this partnership, our Agency will primarily exchange experiences on self-driving or autonomous buses.
The project kick-off meeting took place online on 14 May 2025 and will be followed by the first study visit in Magdeburg in the fall of 2025.
On our channels we will continuously report on the European and domestic situation of this form of transport, which is still considered a novelty.
You can find more information about the project on our website (https://ddriu.hu/en/ongoing-projects/) and on the official project website (https://www.interregeurope.eu/smartauto).
The participation of the South Transdanubia Regional Innovation Agency in the Interreg Europe Programme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Hungary.
