On 18 September, DDRIÜ staff paid a site visit to Tüke Busz Zrt. in Pécs. During the event they visited several sites of the public transport company.

The purpose of the site visit was to get an insight into the operation of the local public transport network and its different activities. During the day we learned about the daily challenges faced by passengers and operators.

  • The site visit took place at the headquarters of Tüke Bus Zrt, where the company’s management and secretariat are located. During the meeting, we reviewed the relationship between urban planning and the public transport network in line with the data analysis that had been carried out earlier. Furthermore, we were given an insight into the future development plans of Tüke Busz Zrt. to strengthen sustainable transport solutions.
  • After the meeting, we went to the bus terminal in „Uranvaros”. Uranvaros is located in the west of Pécs, which is the second most populated part of the city Here we visited the driver’s rest area and the buses departing from the station. Afterwards, we visited the charging station of a BYD solo electric bus, at the terminal’s charging point.
  • The third site was the Tüke Bus depot on Tüskéséréti Road. Here, we were able to observe the efficient operation of the service base, where Tüke’s specialists carry out on-site service and maintenance of vehicles (both diesel and electric buses) after the expiry of the warranty period.

The site visit provided useful experience and contributed to a better understanding of the company’s operations.
